たくす【託す】

1 〔預ける〕 trust 《sb with sth》; entrust 《sb with sth, sth to sb》; leave [commit, entrust] sb to sb's care; place sth under sb's care [in sb's hands]; put sb in charge of…; (ことづける) leave a message 《with sb》; 〔任せる〕 put [leave] sth in sb's hands; leave 《sth up to sb, sb to do》; charge 《sb with a task [to do]》; consign 《sth to sb》; commission 《sb to do》.

●荷物をポーターに託す leave a parcel with a porter

・使者に託した手紙 a letter in the hands of a messenger

・友人に託して送る send sth with a friend; ask [get] a friend to take sth

・全財産を託す entrust all one's property 《to sb》

・任務を託す charge sb with a duty

・ペットの世話を託す get sb to look after one's pet(s)
